Guide for Back off VVA/IVA For Caterpillar IVA Delete
In order to do correct VVA/IVA delete You have to do following:
ECM tuning of the engine computer
backing off the VVA adjusters
ECM tuning :
Our ECM tuning will allow you to back off the VVA adjusters all the way off, and prevent them from activating that way.
All our tunes for VVA delete on CAT engines come with fleet safe power upgrade that will provide You best fuel economy.
Work that needs to be done:
You have to back off VVA adjusters ALL THE WAY OFF.
Turn the nut counter clockwise (get the nut away from base).
Back the VVA/IVA adjuster all the way off.
Tighten the nut back down.
Check the photo below, finger is pointing to one of the VVA adjusters - You need to back all 6 of them OFF.
Do not adjust anything else(jakes for example).
